The Alan Jerousek Athletic Memorial Foundation
In the fall of 1987, Crystal Lake Central High School lost a beloved student named Alan Jerousek in a tragic car accident.
Our family started a memorial fund in his name and has been awarding a monetary scholarship to deserving students at the end of each basketball season. We ask the coaches choose an athlete who displays the same kinds of admirable qualities that Alan had. It has been our honor to help dozens of CLCHS athletes attend college and sports camps.
For nearly 40 years, our family and friends have funded the scholarship and we’d like to expand to include more students. We need your help! Please contact us and stay in touch for updates as we pursue a charity status that will not only allow us to offer our supporters a tax-deduction, but will also appeal to corporations who would like to join us in our mission to help students while keeping Alan’s memory alive.

"Al was my best friend. We did everything together. I loved competing with him - whether it was in the classroom or breaking into the lower gym for fierce games of one-on-one. Throughout my life, he has been a constant source of inspiration and motivation."
-Mark Hanson, 1989 recipient of the scholarship award
